To be eligible for the PMI-ACP (Project Management Institute Agile Certified Practitioner) certification, you must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Requirements: A secondary degree (high school diploma, associate's degree, or global equivalent) or higher.
- General Project Experience: You must have at least 2,000 hours (12 months) of general project experience working on teams. A current PMP or PgMP certification satisfies this requirement but is not required to apply for the PMI-ACP.
- Agile Project Experience: You must also have at least 1,500 hours (8 months) of experience working on agile project teams or with agile methodologies. This requirement is in addition to the 2,000 hours of general project experience.
- Agile Training: You must have completed at least 21 contact hours of training in agile practices. This training must be specific to agile methodologies and may cover topics such as agile principles and values, agile frameworks and methods, agile leadership, and agile team dynamics.
- Membership: You may become a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) to apply for the PMI-ACP certification. Although it is not mandatory.
Once you have met these eligibility requirements, you can apply for the PMI-ACP certification and take the exam.
